Vice President Chen Xiaoqin was Invited to Participate in the Maritime Talent Training and Crew Development Forum at the First World Maritime Merchants Forum

     On October 20, the First World Maritime Merchants Forum with the theme of Leading the Trend was held in Hong Kong. The forum was led by China Merchants Group and co-held by the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) and Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA). Focusing on the new ecosystem of shipping industry development in new situations, through keynote speeches, round table forums and other forms of discussion, the participants jointly study and discuss how upstream and downstream enterprises of the shipping industry chain can further increase mutually beneficial cooperation and promote complementary advantages, enhance mutual exchange of needed goods and achieve mutually beneficial symbiosis.

     The Maritime Talent Training and Crew Development Forum was broadcast live online, and Zhao Youtao, Vice President of Dalian Maritime University, Chen Xiaoqin, Vice President of JMI, Li Jun, Vice President of Jiangsu Shipping College, and Liu Rusong, General Manager of Guangzhou Haishun Shipping Co., Ltd.,were invited to make keynote speeches at the forum, which focused on such hot topics as the importance of cultivating and building high-performing shipping talent teams, how shipping enterprises and maritime colleges can develop together and work together to jointly promote the high-quality crew development. 

       Chen Xiaoqin, Vice President of our college, delivered her speech with the theme of cooperation among the four parties, alternation between ships and schools, exploration and practice of modern apprenticeship training for outstanding seafarers. She described the difficulties faced by China's maritime vocational education, the measures and innovations, existing problems and follow-up plans of school enterprise duality and alternation between ships and schools to train outstanding seafarers from three aspects: project background, path exploration and reflection and prospect. She also elaborated on our college’s Excellent Seafarer Education and Training Plan, publicized the achievements and effectiveness of the education and teaching reform of the navigation major in our college and promoted the 1 (school) + 0.5 (ship) + 1 (school) + 0.5 (ship) navigation talent training mode.
